The "Try IT" sessions were a great success with a number of new members signing up.
We practice every Tuesday and Thursday. We gather at 6pm at the Shingle Mill dock, in the boat at 6.30pm, we practice till 8pm.
The Pearl Warriors Dragon Boat team of Powell River consists of both MEN and WOMEN of all ages in a dragon boat that holds 20 people.
The Silver Dragons is a mixed team of age 55 plus.

Pearl Warrior Team
The Pearl Warriors Dragon Boat team began in Powell River with a group of enthusiasts in 2004 and has grown from there. We paddle on the beautiful Powell Lake. Dragon boating on the West Coast first appeared in Vancouver as a demonstration sport at Expo 86. Vancouverites liked it and interest started to grow. There are now teams up and down the coast and on Vancouver Island.
The team strives to create an open and dynamic atmosphere where people can learn, develop and improve their paddling skills, meet new people and train for and compete in festivals, all while enjoying the beauty of our surroundings.
This sport is one that can be enjoyed by almost everyone. No special skills or abilities are required and it's affordable. At the novice and recreational level the team provides a social outlet, team building and exercise. It can be taken to the next level of competition.
Powell River hosted its first Dragon Boat festival in September 2010 in Mowat Bay.
The Pearl Warriors Team is recruiting new members for the 2012 season. Women and men of all ages are welcome.

Dragon Boat Festival Campbell River "Race the River"
On July 3, the Pearl Warriors mixed team competed in our first festival of this season. The "Race the River!" festival. The team had a great day in Campbell River! We had 3 races and learned something with each one! Our last race was very strong and we left feeling pretty darn good! Drums beating, paddles reaching hard and deep, adrenaline pumping... it was an exciting event! More information, click here.
